Photo Gallery My two beautiful nieces have been an infinite source of amusement and joy to me since they were born. Whenever I see them, I am reminded of how happy someone can be with the simple things in life. I should be a little bit more like my nieces in that respect. I know, a picture of a picture seems a little odd, but this is one of my most prized possessions. The two dogs in the picture are my first (and my most beloved) pets. The picture itself, I actually took, developed the negatives in a darkroom, figured out the perfect exposure to develop it in to an actual photo, and used a light box to create it. Everything in this picture is a direct result of my own design and I am so proud of it. My Gecko Etna has been my gaming companion, my confidant, and head sitter for about 5 years now. It was my first experience having something completely rely on me for it’s well-being, and I feel I’m a better person for having her in my life. My sister and I had a lot of issues with each other growing up. One Christmas, she gave me a book with this letter written on the inside cover. It was the first time I felt really close to my sister. This watch belonged to my late grandfather. It was his work watch and he gave it to me before he passed. He was always cold while he was still around, but this helped me understand he really did care. I wear it whenever I can. This flask was a groomsman’s gift I received for being a part of my friends wedding. It was the first time I had been a part of something so personal in someone elses life and I was honored to receive it. Even though I don’t drink, I still keep this thing pretty close to me. This looks like just a normal picture of my Dad and his wife, but to me, it is so much more than that. I have never seen him happier than when he is with her. He’s outgoing and trying things he’d never have considered before. It gives me hope every time I see these two together. This is a painting my late great grandmother made. I spent a lot of time with her during her final days and didn’t find out she was an artist (like me) until after she passed. I keep this on my wall as a celebration of her, and a reminder of how I should always take the time to actually talk to other people. This is a Buddha statue I got as a gift. They told me they got it for me because I remind them of a Buddhist. It was the first time someone didn’t associate me with an image of violence and was a huge triumph for me. I hope I can keep this statue for years to come. This is my bike. It has been stolen twice, and both times I got it back. Now it’s a symbol of not giving up when things are hopeless…. and also a bike to get around on. Share this:TwitterFacebookLike Loading...
